This tool arises from the need to support people with ASD in oral care, favoring the prevention of more serious problems that may require surgical intervention.
Knowing the particular needs of the person with ASD in order to support them and encourage the experiences to be as satisfactory as possible requires joint work between families and professionals to promote habituation and desensitization to the different tests and/or situations that are carried out in the clinic, as well as the space and material used.We recommend reading Guide for the participation of people with ASD: Keys to oral health.
